Samay Upadhya – high-schooler and dreamer

Samay Upadhya is a Nepalese American junior at Fort Mill High School, Fort Mill, SC. He is super talented and has been learning and exploring STEAM with various opportunities. He had been active with FLL robotics teams building Lego robots for many years in past. He is putting his level-best efforts for the betterment of underprivileged kids in Nepal.

Samay is on a mission “Himalayan Hacks” to empower underprivileged children in Nepal. He is directing a workshop/hackathon for underprivileged kids in Nepal to introduce them to the wonders of technology and the profound impact it can have on one’s life. This event is taking place at a government school in Makwanpur, and he will be introducing and distributing Raspberry Pis as well as desktops to spread the joy of computer science through game development.

Nepal, a nation of immense natural beauty, grapples with educational disparities. Samay focuses on introducing these young minds to the fascinating realms of Computer Science and Engineering. He is putting an effort to bridge this gap by offering short educational programs, workshops, and mentorship to inspire these children towards valuable skills that can shape their futures. Through hands-on learning experiences, he aims to spark their curiosity and creativity while fostering a sense of confidence and self-belief. He is working with a team which is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued.

Samay has setup a website summarizing his efforts, and the link to his website is –  https://himalayanhacks.com. As he has mentioned, the timeline for his effort in the field is later in December. Also he had setup fund raiser in his website, please contribute if you like what he is doing. Any amount would help motivate and encourage him with his goal.

Dhimay is proud to be associated to his effort as a sponsor even though the contribution is small. We wish him all the best on his mission and look forward to listen to his stories. Also, we hope he will have positive impact to our young FLL techies “Dhimay Rockers”.
